Plain End Fittings Now Available for GB Indoor Units
Schier’s GB indoor grease interceptors are now provided standard with plain-end fittings for connection with a rubber coupling (by others).
Background
The GB Indoor models were launched last summer with the industry first feature of “multiple pipe sizes” provided standard. We believed the best way to offer that was with a standard 4" FPT connection and fitting options of 4x3 and 3x2. While plumbers and wholesalers loved the versatility of multiple connections, they preferred plain-end instead of FPT. In response, we designed proprietary Schier-branded plain-end x MPT adapters to replace the female adapters. These new adapters thread into each unit, and will be provided with each unit in the same sizes as the female adapters were offered (except for the GB3 - see table below).
This will be a running change that will begin October 22nd 2018. In addition, both the “old” FPT adapters and the new MPT adapters will be available for sale separately (see website).
