Striem Aardvark: 3rd Party Certified, UPC Compliant
The Aardvark Series solids interceptor is now listed by IAPMO to IGC-167. The Certificate of Listing can be found by clicking on the Striem logo. Specifications have been updated to include the UPC stamp.
Some territories require a third party certification or UPC stamp on the product. This is now satisfied and all four Aardvark models carry a third party listing by IAPMO. It is a competitive advantage versus solids interceptors that do not carry a third party certification.
What is IGC-167?
IGC-167 is a performance standard for solid waste containment interceptors. The standard requires the interceptor to be equipped with a screen (in our case a perforated basket) to catch solids. The testing method is twofold. One test flows water and dental plaster, and one test flows water and human hair. No plaster greater than 0.5 in. shall pass through the outlet of the interceptor. No hair whatsoever shall pass through the outlet of the interceptor.
